Welcome to Lawrence County, Alabama, a great place to live and work. Lawrence County is rich in history and Southern hospitality where everyone works together. Residents and businesses are proud to show off our beautiful landscapes that include the Bankhead National Forest, the flowing Tennessee River and historical towns and heritage sites. Lawrence County is a sanctuary in today’s busy world. We hope you will experience it first-hand.
The County offers great outdoor activities including plenty of fishing spots, boating areas, hunting lands and walking/hiking trails. Let’s us not forget the two golf courses; one in Moulton and one in Courtland. Another nice outdoor activity offered is Doublehead Resort in Town Creek. They offer corporate meeting space as well as pretty cabins. In addition, we have fun events such as the annual Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival, the Lawrence Multi-Cultural Festival, the Jesse Owens Memorial Run, Courtland’s Picnic in the Park and much more. We even host a annual good old-fashioned county fair!
We are proud to have a county that is home to a diverse productive workforce and community leaders. Our education system continues to improve and our business community continues to grow. Our Youth Leadership Development program educates and graduates future leaders each year.
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce works with non-profit organizations, for-profit businesses, the church community and residents to improve the quality of life for everyone in Lawrence County.
