Where is Lawrence County?
Lawrence County is located in Northwest Alabama. The Tennessee River's Wheeler Lake forms the county's northern border while Bankhead National Forest occupies the southern fourth of the county.
The County encompasses approximately 693 square miles. The city of Moulton is the County Seat and is located just south of the geographic center of the county. Lawrence County’s primary market includes 4 other municipalities Courtland, North Courtland, Hillsboro and Town Creek.
The people of Lawrence County are hardworking, industrious and filled with a love for God, family, friends and the land they live on. The agricultural sector of Lawrence County supports and sustains much of our economy. Fields white with cotton, corn and other row crops are as a part of our heritage as the lazy Tennessee River and the ancient woodlands of the Bankhead National Forest. Our heritage extends to our small towns and downtowns, where our ancestors settled and put down roots.
